Hi!

My name is Nikhil Agarwal. I am a currently graduate student at Georgia Tech pursuing my MS in Computer Science. I completed my BS in Computer Engineering at Rutgers University in May 2024, graduating with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude).

This summer 2024, I will be joining Paramount as a Software Engineer Intern. In the Summer of 2023 I was a Software Engineer Intern at Barclays on their KYC and Group Financial Crime Operations team. We develop software to ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard against fraudulent activity using Java (Spring), Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS), and PEGA.

For the winter of 2021-2022, I was an Software Engineer Intern at Makonis Software. During my time there I developed Java software that consolidates financial statements.

I am very passionate about my projects and the knowledge I've gained from personally building software. My projects include full-stack development in Node.js (JavaScript) and the Flask Framework (Python), Machine learning projects using Jupyter Notebook and Neural Networks written from scratch, as well as projects focusing on algorithm and data structure design (dictionary app, 3D pathfinding visualizer, etc.)

I've also been a volunteer math coach at the Urban League of Morris County, in Morristown NJ. We Actively supported field electrician candidates in improving their math skills through the Urban League Program for First Energy. First Energy is a utility company in NJ that hires field electricians through this Urban League Program. It was wonderful to see education change people's lives for the better.

Outside of my professional and academic background, I enjoy playing classical music on the piano and violin and distance running.
